I was wondering what anyone had ever experienced in regards of contacting schools (D1, D2, etc.) about interest playing there after JUCO career.

I know it has a lot to do with whether the player is eligible after year 1 (eligible), and also whether the timing is necessary (knows he may have to attend JUCO the 2nd year), etc.

Is this a taboo thing to do? I have seen and read all the scenarios of contacting coaches during high school but not quite sure I've ever seen this subject broached.

It seems to me from what I observe thus far that these schools have constant contact with the JUCO coaches and they talk. If that is so, does one even need to put much thought to it unless there is a particular school he wants to attend?

No imho. Juco's ought to know that they are stepping stones to other things. I think most coaches are ok with that. When they can tout that their players have transferred to x, y, and z university then it can only boost their respective programs imo so they ought to view it as a plus. If there are any Juco coaches out there, I would like to hear their opinion on the matter.
