It's an incredibly beautiful April day where I live, and my son is lounging on the couch behind me breaking in a new first baseman's mitt, the ball going pop, pop, pop.  I started thinking about how many mitts I broke in while I was playing and all the other little, but potent and pervasive, rituals of the game.  I'm interested in not only those, but the unique ones, as well.  My 2017's school team always sings the school alma mater as they enter the school grounds on the bus ride back, win or lose.  I've heard the boys' voices through the open bus windows and it's especially poignant after a loss.

Any other traditions like that folks would be willing to share?
