Just got word...Cosby wins 2-0. Will face winner of James River/Matoaca for Regional championship.

Just read Dinwiddie's Colton Gunn allowed four hits and struck out eleven. Talk about a tough loss...according to Tom Garrett of Virginia Preps Dinwiddie left ten on base so they had their chances.
sounds like both pitchers pitched great games. This time of year Cosby gets tough. Last year they took a TOUGH 1-0 loss at the Diamond vs Godwin to end their season. Gotta believe they are celebrating this return to the state playoffs...last trip was in 2010 where they reached the final four.
Will now be interesting to see if James River can punch it's own ticket to the playoffs and set up an all Dominion District Regional Final.
Amazing thing about the Cosby program is how many underclassmen contributed this week...They have a pipeline of talent!
All the college bound Jrs and Srs get the headlines but Cosby just won two Regional playoff games with two Sophomore pitchers and Monday the headline was about a kid Mckay who doubled in the winning run...another Sophomore! Also mentioned was a sophomore who is said to be "the fastest kid in the region"

Bickford is a junior. Only Williams is a sophomore.

Cosby will have a couple of big holes to fill next year but looks like they will return two good pitchers with some great experience to build around.

Probably sophomore Tyler Fitzgerald. Has been clocked at 6.5 60....and it shows in the field and stealing bases.
