After playing James River tough twice earlier this season, Cosby finally got the better of them in the tournament championship game Thursday night. Ronnie Shaban doubled and scored, then later lofted a 2-run homer to lead Cosby's offense. James River never figured out soph. lefty Hunter Ackerman, who limited them to 3 hits and notched 10 K's. A 7th inning homer by Chris Briere made the score respectable, but Cosby led nearly all the way.
James River was not sharp in this game, allowing 3 unearned runs on 3 errors, and twice killing possible rallies by failing to execute bunts with 2 on and no outs.
