This is a new one on me Ga. I have heard of companies that say they will help you by contacting their lists of college coaches, but I have never heard of a company that calls on behalf of those coaches looking for players.
Being that part of my job involves looking at baseball marketing, I pesonally am always open to new ideas, but as they say, the buyer beware.
The new trend on the Internet is on-line showcases and recruiting websites. About a month ago, I posted a website I came across and have done a lot of research on this subject since. Needless to say, I know of over 75 college coaches that use these sites to AID in their recruiting. They have admitted to me that this will not revolutionize the way that they recruit, but it is another source for players.
So if you are looking for some outside help (i.e companies) in getting your son recruited, I suggest going to businesses that have coaches that will look at your son.
They are a marketing company in Canada that like puts together resume's of high school athletes and sends them to colleges. Since recruiting services aren't allowed to speak to college coaches, I couldn't imagine they have specific information on particular colleges, their exact needs and if they have scholarship money available. I also don't see too many coaches filling out forms on recruiting sites saying to send me kids.
Are you on the National "Do Not Call" List? If not, I would sign-up immediately to get off of these companies call lists. They are from Canada, so I am not sure if our "Do Not Call" List applies.
The only colleges that might need help recruiting players are small D2 schools that offer very small scholarships and have large yearly tuition rates. These schools already understand this situation that they are in and would not pay someone to look for players for them. These smaller schools mainly recruit players from the same states that they are in.
I agree, I have a hard time believing a college in the States would seek the help of a Canadian company, nothing against people from Canada personaly! US colleges are not that fond of recruiting Canadian athletes, they usually have less money to pay for college not to mention the exchange rate which only makes things worse...
