Couple Colorado kids do well

Who are the top hs players in the state of Colorado for the upcoming season?

I imagine there are quite a few, but the two that have been nationally recognized (BA top 100) are Drew Bowman (committed to ASU) and Luke French (committed to UNLV).

Any others out there?

sticking to pitchers I've actually seen, French Bowman and Sclereth are all good lefties. Wertz, Murray and Koons are good RHP. Although I've not seen him, I hear Kroshell is real good too. I'm sure there will be a few others from around the state. In the field, I think you could list the whole Heritage team - I wouldn't be surprised if they have 6 or 7 D1 commitments by summer - in addition to Murray and French, they have Amedei, Bruns, Crum, Opitz and Winery (apologies for all mis-spellings)they have to be the 5A favorite by far - I wouldn't be surprised to see them get some national recognition.

I appreciate all the information so far, I would like to hear how the season progresses in Colorado as I am originally from there and like to hear about quality players from the state that is often "overlooked". Keep those names coming, and schools if you know them.

Seth Loman is another Colorado senior that's a really good prospect. He has verbally committed to the University of Arkansas.

I wish I would have heard about you sooner, I would have loved to gotten you down to Texas, but my contacts let me down a little, I guess because they are from Denver and didn't let me know about you until after the Showcase with Al Bleser. NO I was unable to attend, but Al and others shared information about who was there and what they did.

Are you a coach at Odessa Junior College?

It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out this spring. A lot of good arms are in Colorado this year. Bowman and French are the two that are getting the national attention, but I think there will be some suprises throughout the state this spring.

Yes, Calder I am coach Wagner at Odessa College. I still want you here, badly. I agree I think there are some sleeper arms out there, that hopefully I know about and few others do, fat chance but it is always good to have hope. I will talk to you soon.

The CO rankings should be out in tomorrows (3/1)papers.

not sure. My son's coach told him The Post info will be out on Monday. I think the Rocky follows soon after.

Guess our information wasn't correct. The papers usually put the rankings out before the season starts. My son's team opens the season Thursday so we will see if they get the information out before then....

Where does your son play at? We open up this Thursday as well.

The RockyMtn News will have its Spring Sports Prep special out on Wednesday. I'm not sure about the Post. I think that will have the preseason rankings.

I see where Baseball America has Heritage ranked #21 in the country. They'll be fun to watch.

It seems like it is later this year but probably just me. If we can keep the snow away maybe we will get some games in. Our team has only been able to practice outside 2 or 3 times so far including a very CHILLY scrimmage last Saturday. It's just not right!!

The boys were excited with the national ranking...we play a tough conference schedule so they will have to be ready for tough competition! Good luck to D's team this year. I met him briefly last summer--very nice young man and very talented I might add. We will be watching to see what great things happens for him in June!

Thanks for the kind words - Drew and Erik know each other pretty well. Erik has caught Drew in several bullpen sessions when Chad, Luke and Drew were throwing with Bus.
