The pitch they like the most is the consistent strike. Best pitch in baseball. As to velocity, while many will tell you a lefty needs to throw mid-80's or better, there are more pitchers out there who don't hit 84 or 85 than you'll believe.

Yesterday, I saw a right hander for a West Coast Conference (D-1) school who never got over 82 and he threw three innings, if I recall correctly.
leftycatcher - I agree with Dad. My son is a lefty who was a very good catcher and did so periodically during youth and HS. However, ALL of his coaches knew that he wouldn't catch in college, so they rarely put him there as he got older.

I would recommend working on your pitching as well! Will take you alot further if you have the ability than catching left handed. Smile
