Craig Biggio hit by a pitch (sports pickle)
Former Astros infielder Craig Biggio was struck by a baseball today while eating lunch with his children in a suburban Houston park.
“I kind of hoped this sort of thing would stop when I retired,” said Biggio. “And this one hurt probably more than any I ever had. When you’re playing, you can expect it a little bit. But whining you’re eating ham and cheese and sitting on a blanket and a baseball comes out of nowhere and strikes you in the temple, it really freaking hurts.”
Biggio says he isn’t sure where the pitch came from.
“Jeff Bagwell has been stalking me a little bit,” said Biggio. “He’s angry because we don’t spend as much time together as we used to. Maybe it was him who threw at me.”
