Hey all,

I've been experiencing this problem lately when I'm throwing a curveball. I find that I'm slowing my arm down towards release, and its a dead giveaway to what pitch I'm throwing. The problem I'm finding is that I can't throw my curveball with "fastball" arm speed, and when I do, I end up not finishing off my pitch, and it ends up being a hanger in the top of the zone.

Are there any drills that would eliminate this problem? Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

You need to be quick with your hand out front. Dont think about twisting your wrist. The curve ball is done with the hand. Be fast late, not FB type of body effort, just quick handspeed out over your lead leg. Be certain that you maintain your fastball arm slot while attepmting to throw a quicker breaking ball, you dont want to slide underneath the ball and push it. It will also help dramatically if you shorten your stide on your curveball a little bit. This really makes it easier to get out over your lead leg and really make your hand move quick. Try not to be quick until your hand gets on top of the curve, then go quick and down from that point. I know im not as descriptive as Stephen King, so let me know what was lost in translation if anything. peace
