STING BASEBALL TRYOUTS
The Central Virginia Sting baseball organization is pleased to announce it will conduct team tryouts for it's tenth season on Saturday August 22 at 1 PM (rain date will be the following day) at the Culpeper American Legion Field, located at 14222 Rixeyville Road, Culpeper, VA. Tryouts are open to players age 15-18 from Culpeper, Eastern View, Courtland, Liberty, Rappahannock, Kettle Run, Madison, Stafford Co Schools, as well as other nearby high schools. We will pick a roster of 18-20 ballplayers typically from about 5 or 6 different high schools. We will conduct practice each week, in addition to the games, usually twice weekly practices should be expected. We are looking for players who are committed, want to learn, and hope to play at the college level upon graduation from high school.
The season will run from Labor Day to early November, games will be played on weekends. Depending on the number of committed players, we may travel to showcase/tournaments this fall as well the games in the Valley Fall High School League. The fee is 175.00 which is for our League Play Only, travel and fees associated with showcase/tournaments will be an additional expense. Only serious & committed players should come to the tryouts.
Players should report at 1 PM to register and warm up, wear baseball pants, cleats, and bring all applicable gear needed. More information and history about the Sting organization can be found on the Sting website at www.eteamz.com/cvsting
