I wouldn't think that a forensics program should be the deciding factor in a school. I totally believe in the education side of things but a forensic degree is nothing without grad school and possibly a doctorate. All biology degrees will give you the same prep that a forensics dept. would. In fact, a criminologist had has an undergrad in biology or chemistry then 4-6 years of post graduate work prior to becoming a specialist in forensics. Schools have really capitalized on the popularity of the tv show CSI in developing forensics programs when a bio degree is equally as good to achieve the same thing.
I am not raining on your parade but simply stating that a bio or chem degree will allow you to achieve the same thing as an official bachelors in forensics. To give you some background, I am a college admission counselor and provide this infomration to prospective students and their families quite regularly.
