Son played Friday night and had Sat off so we went out to watch our JV and Varsity team(s) play.

We were watching JV and the other team had a very nice Soph Lefty throwing - pretty much shutting us down. I run up to the car and grab my gun and pick up a few readings on him. He has a nice FB working 77-78 peak 79. Sure enough Dad stolls over and asks what I am getting him at and gave him the numbers. He says NO WAY he was throwing 86 before....

Bingo Ask Dad - 7 strikes again.

You never know. I was at a JV game the other day and as I was leaving a dad asked me "what were they throwing, mid to low 70s?" I was a bit surprised as the starters were throwing 84-86, although he dropped to 81 by the final inning, and 84-85 respectively and although one reliever was throwing low 70s the closer threw 83-84 and didn't look fully warm.

How funny. Have them go "cha-ching" when you pull the trigger and have them all read 90.

mds: At least now I know who to give credit to. Think you have stumbled on one of the fundamental truths of baseball. Might put you up there with the great minds of our time........maybe like Rodney Dangerfield.
