Gee, I was in another forum and I was advising them that they might want to add additional topics to the forum to attract other websters. I was thinking College Coaches, Scouts, Recruiters, outside of the local area would be more interested in those types of subjects. The topics that they were centering on were topics that were extremely narrow in webster appeal or interest outside of their local environment!! The best ss on 1st street in a particular town has little interest to anyone except the ss's on 1st street in those towns!!

They have posted every position on the baseball team and have continued to do so. I am still waiting until they post about who is the "Best Batboy" in the district!!

The really strange thing about it is that they truely argue about it!! One parent will attack the other on just how good some player is, weird, but to each their own. I don't understand the logic of how that could help either player or parent but, oh well!!

Some are students and that is understandable because they are going about getting recognition the only way that they know how. Some are parents saying that my little johnny is better than your little billy in district one subdivision 2 because I have watched my little johnny play and I am a great judge of talent!!

Gee, what was I thinking?? Those people don't want to hear anything about anything except their son, their team mates, their district, their subdivision, their state, or subjects that are related to things that impact them on a daily basis!!

Well, I have taken a couple of shots from some of the websters in that forum for attempting to widen the variety of posts or at least change the thread input to attract outside resources!! By posting some different topics I did seem to change the agenda a little to something other than "my local interest forum"!!But within two days the posts were right back to old form!!

The thing that I didn't realize, and this is where the "Da" comes in, the forum was a regional forum and websters were websters that could be at any stage in their baseball recruiting process level. They aren't at the same level as other posters on the site, they have their own needs and those needs are totally different than other poster needs! It doesn't make them worse or better, just different!!

I was posting information that would have been of interest to high school seniors or students that were looking at the possibility of moving on to the next level, maybe an out of state school at a D1 program. Basically I should have posted "patronizing posts about little johnny" that said little johnny was great or posts why I thought little johnny wasn't so great, that would have been better in that agenda!!

My perspective was one of a coach or a person "outside of the local interest" threads, and what information that would be of interest to them that were reading the threads or what would attract people that could impact the recruiting of these players!!

Already going through the entire gambit of the recruiting process, I felt that I had some information that could be of interest to people outside of the "local interest threads", and therefore they would want to view more threads in the forum and hince creating exposure for the local players!!

Well, it was very short lived and most of the threads now are back to local threads of little interest to any coach, scout or recruiter outside of the local area. To be real honest, I think it is actually counter productive because I don't think scouts want to hear all about little "johnny" from little johhnys parents or little johnny!!

I am posting this here because the "after high school" crowd would understand how important outside of the local area exposure is.

I have made a choice about posting. I am going to evaluate my posts a little better prior to the time of posting them and then post them in the correct forum!! Since there really isn't any need for me to share information with websters that really don't want to hear it anyway, why do it?? I have decided to advise people that want to listen!! What a thought, eh?? I will not be posting on that forum and will leave it to the "local interest threads"!!

The damage has already taken place with all of the local postings, now when I look at that forum I just move on as quick as possible!! I know my interest in that forum has diminished so much in the last 6 months that I barely even come on the site. I have been active over the last week and a half still attempting to create more interest in the threads but have come to realize that it is a waste of my time!!

One of the forum moderators is trying to solve the problem by creating a local forum, which in theory is a good idea!! They have actually said that I was upset with the number of posts about the "local interests" and therefore there is a need for a regional local forum. Honestly, I could care less, just trying to help!!

I feel it is a total waste of time and money for this web site or Bob to spend any dollars to create another forum for a specific local area if in fact all they are going to do on the forum is argue about little "johnnys" abilites, or my team could beat your team!! But then again, those are different needs and they may need attention.

I would say keep the forum the way that it is for their needs, save the money in development cost, People will read and post on different forums and threads if they don't like that forum and the posters there can discuss "little johnny on that forum"!!

Anyway, I posted this on the after high school thread because I felt that most of the people on this thread are way beyond, "my little johnny" is better than "your little billy" and to also say HOW STUPID WAS I??? I should have known better!!!

My problem was, I just couldn't wait to find out who the "best batboy" on 1st street was or who or what was going to happen next with the next "average joe baseball player", kind of like a soap opera!!!!!

Moderators, websters and fans that post on this forum, thanks again!!!
