The Dallas Patriots have had a lot of great publicity surrounding the talent level that comes through every year, and this year is as strong as ever with numerous nationally ranked prospects. Josh Bell, a 2011 graduate is ranked as the #2 prospect in the state of Texas, and 20th nationally. Trevor Story, a 2011 graduate, is ranked as the 10th highest prospect in the state of Texas and 99th nationally. Both Bell and Story have already committed to play college baseball for the 2009 College World Series Champions, LSU!
Other notable nationally ranked players include Colby Suggs (23rd ranked player in the state), a 2010 graduate who has signed with Arkansas. Zach Good, a 2010 graduate who signed with Oklahoma. Joining Bell and Story as nationally ranked players in the 2011 class are: Jeff Stovall (29th ranked player in the state), Braden Strickland (30th ranked player in the state), and Ryan McCarthy (45th ranked player in the state). Nick Bullington and Kevin Terry were amongst the list of players the scouting agency will follow.

If the DBat/Mustangs organization had started a thread similar to this, I imagine the responses would be quite different.

The Patriots organization is competitive on a national level and represents the metroplex and texas extremely well, not only from a win/loss perspective but also by doing it with class and teaching the boys valuable life lessons.

BTW...if you're not familiar with Perfect Game, their ranking system and their events, you probably don't know a whole lot about ameteur baseball and should probably refrain from commenting.

The difference is Cade or Sam would not have posted something like this...

I am familiar with Perfect Game but not their ranking system. Does this mean I shouldn't comment on (ameteur) baseball ??? Please forgive me...
I agree with you BR...let's talk HS ball...I just couldn't stand by while a very good organization was being "slammed".

Mav...I guess the correct way to phrase my comment would have been..."refrain from making negative comments". Hey, this is a forum and everyone can share their opinion, but to insinuate that the Patriots players got ranked highly because of paying someone off in some form or fashion is ludicrous (not the rapper).

Back to the rankings...I've seen 7 of the Top 10 play in 5A and it looks about right. Southlake Carroll's 4 losses have all been by 1 run...3 of them in 2-1 games. The tournaments are over and although some have already played a district game, the real deal starts today (weather permitting).

Didn't insinuate they were ranked highly because of paying someone off. I just want to know how they are ranked, thanks though.

I have heard that they are ranked against players that have played in a PG event. So maybe they should say that before saying that someone is the # so and so in the state and nation, when that is not the case.
