I did not know who your son was until I read this post. I met your son about 2 months ago before he left for spring training at the Olympic Club Luncheon. He is a class act. Spoke with me for as long as I had questions to ask. What college does your younger son play for?

Thanks very much Randy. That means alot. But you guys in blue look out for each other (although he didn't stick with it very long).

Thanks to you also mathews41. Nice to know all of that home training sunk in.

True, we umpires do stick together. But I think that "all" in baseball stick together when something bad happens, whether a player, coach, umpire, parent or fan. And, I think Dan made the correct choice of playing vs. umpiring to get to the bigs.

I'll be going to some games this weekend in San Diego to see a couple of other local talents, Mark Reynolds and Justin Upton, when Arizona plays San Diego.
