I contacted Julie and asked her if I might post this here for the membership.

My daughter plays college softball and while tossing front toss from about 8 feet, was hit in her right hand by a line drive.  The initial evaluation was that she has a possible broken hand.  DD was taken for xrays the following day and they were negative but was told that she had a severe bone bruise and would be out for 4 weeks.  Her hand looked hedious. Our HS trainer is one of the best in the state.  He asked to see her for an evaluation.  I just about cried seeing him work on her.  She was screaming etc. as he probed her hand.  He pulled out a product that was sent to him from a former intern who now is in MLB.  It is called Polymem.  It is very expensive.  Anyway, he put that on her with instructions to keep it on and keep it dry.  I got back earlier tonight from seeing my daughter.  I can not believe how her hand looks.  She said that she can take her index finger and touch it to the tip of her thumb without pain.  She could not close her hand on Friday. I went to the Polymem website and so, here is a link to a baseball injury:

I don't know if my child will be ok this week but she tried to hit last week and could not.  She intents to hit tomorrow.  I'm hoping that this will help any of you who might need similar help with an injury.

Bulldog, as you know, I only have one child.  I would have paid anything to get her headed toward recovery.  I called BB last night and she did hit yesterday.  It is still sore but she can handle the bat some.  She has the rest of this week and next week before they play and so, she is hoping to be "back" by then.
