Watching Tigers vs. Yanks .....snowing, 36 degrees and dropping.  Price has gotten rocked, 80 pitches through 2 innings, came out in 3rd, is clearly not having his stuff, lead off hit up the middle, and still in the game.  Can't believe Ausmus has him out there....he has rarely hit 90, FB is mid 80's, and clearly does not have his A-game.

Makes you wonder if stressful games like this shows up later in the form of injury.

Perplexed to say the least.

No one mentioning Price's last outing, complete game in 106 pitches, 75 for strikes.

While everyone loves to to brag about their strikeouts, an important stat in baseball, Price says his goal was 80 pitches with no strikeouts. This is efficiency thats needed to keep a pitcher healthy.  It also keeps the defense awake.

I am with you...son was always very effective as a sinker guy. He got drafted for his sinker, but it seemed that the strikeout and more velocity was what they wanted. This created a lot of pitches and he shyed away from the 2 seamer. Once he realized that was his pitch everything started working again. So I liked what Price said, being an efficient pitcher is what everyone should work towards no matter what age.
