@Southerngirl - My oldest boy plays at Davidson.  In general, the process would be very similar to what you might experience at any mid-D1.  Davidson is a little distinctive because of the academic focus and the size of the school/student body.  The coaches have to recruit within the academic constraints as well as ~7 scholarships as opposed to a fully funded 11.7.  Send me a PM if you have specific questions  or want to talk through things in a less public way

Great school.  If not for Covid, this is the one D1 school that "got away" when it became basically impossible for D1 schools to recruit in person in 2020.  Nice field, great staff, and a competitive program.  If your son is interested in a smaller school with high academics and a competitive program, Davidson should be high on his list.
