We try to incorporate realistic base running into all of our pick drills. (that is after we have done dry picks in our PFPs.) We will give our runner a signal as to what we want them to do ie: secondary lead, straight steal, or fake steal. When working daylights we will allow our SS to call the picks and the pitcher will react to him. We will have another pitcher 20-30 ft away to receive the ball if the pitcher goes home.

As a side note we do most of our holding of runners work with the entire team. 3 pitchers working picks to each base. Any OFs that don't pitch or play an infield position we have run. We also cycle through as many of our Infs & Ps into the base running as well.
