I would like to invite everyone out to our Grand Opening of our new indoor facility on April 29th at 10 am – 4 pm. DBAT will be giving away a free Hummer (truck) for kids 16 and old and $10,000.00 college scholarship if you are 15 years old or younger. The contest will be like a hole in one contest except it will be throwing baseballs threw 4 holes. DBAT will have 5 or 6 former Big leaguers there signing autographs for the kids. The new Academy will feature 12 new cages, all new pitching machines, a major league artificial turf outdoor infield, and much more. We will also have 4 baseball vendor out introducing there 2007 products. You will get to demo all the new 2007 bats. Also you can try out our new cage and machines free on this day. The new facility is located ¼ of a mile north of our old Academy. It is on the corner of Midway and Wright Brothers in Addison.

I would like to take this time and thank all the people in the DFW area that has made DBAT what is today. We have been in the same location for 8 years and we feel it is time to move to a bigger and better place. I think everyone will be shocked when they see our new Academy. Thank you for all your support. Cade Griffis

Thanks for all the kind words about me and DBAT. What we have decided to do on the contest is as following. If you are 16 or older you have a chance to win the Hummer. If you are under 16 you will have a chance to win a $10,000 college scholarship. Thanks and hope to see everyone on April 29th.

Thanks

Have followed this thread a little and have the time to finally post.

Cade, I want to say what you have achieved from a business stand point as well as what you have done for amatuer baseball speaks volumes. How someone from DBU ever did this is beyond me. Wink

I can still remember the days when you and I went head to head in college. You pushed me then to become better and even today that still happens. I have watched you become a good husband and a father. I can't wait for the day our boys shoot a deer or turkey on the same weekend.

Cade, you have also given me an opportunity to coach the game I love. The years doing so was a great experience. There wasn't one time when I asked for something for the team that you did not make it happen. If folks only knew what you have given.

I hope your new place is a huge success. How it could be better than what is already established is beyond me, but if someone can do it......it's you.

Now don't forget, I helped you put up your first net and first L-screen. I still remember when we met in your ratty apartment to go over the new business venture. Razz

Keep up the good work and thanks again for all you and Kyle have done for me and so many others.

Cade,

Like Ken, I remember DBAT when it was just a baby. We used to tuck it in early in the evening and then be up all night painting! Anyone that hasn't been to DBAT needs to head over there and see what all the hype is about. Cade and crew really know how to run a GREAT ship. I can't wait to see the new place. Doesn't seem like 8 years ago we were getting the place ready to open.

Congrats Cade, you deserve it!

I would like to thank everyone who came out to our Grand Opening. I am not sure how many people it really was but we made over 500 hotdogs on Saturday. No one won the hummer but we did have a number of people make one and two balls. They won some pretty good prizes. Also all the kids also were able to get signed bats and balls by Ben Grieve, Jeff Fry, Bobby Whitt, and Darren Hall. Thanks again and I hope all of you had a good time. Cade Griffis
