Anyone know anything about these coaches? I'm kidding, I'd think every 14 year old in this state would be lined up for this opportunity....
I thought Hoffpauir was coaching a HP team? Has something changed?
Coaching this team (DBat?), the HP team and the Dallas Rookies? Interesting...
There are already three dbat 14u teams for the upcoming season. All three are loaded. I was told that Hoffpauir's team will be the fourth (in terms of talent)14u dbat team. I also heard that the HP Scots have kinda broken up and that the Tigers and Hurricanes have picked up several of their players. Just second hand rumors that may or may not be true.
What happened to the 14u HP Scots team? Hoffpauir is a great coach.
txdad1315/luvtxball - The fall Hoffpauir HP team played fall tourneys and had talent, but not enough depth to effectively compete in the spring; hence the reason to expand the reach. All fall players are going through tryouts for this team along with new players trying out. Yes, all 3 existing 14U DBAT teams are very talented, with good coaching -- all 3 made the Elite 32 W.S. last August.
Sam is instructing pitchers/catchers/OF in practices and Barry is working the IF and hitting instruction. Tryouts are ongoing; Barry can be reached at 214-500-3830 and Sam is easy to find as well, if you are interested in talking to one of them.
Don't know how strong the team will be yet given ongoing tryouts, but with the combined coaching experience of these two, it should make for some good instruction and player development in a competitive setting for a group of boys about to enter HS baseball.
Barry is also still working with some HP groups, albeit at a different classification.
