LWEast 2, LWCentral 1, at Silver Cross Field in Joliet.

To those of you that have a chance to play a game there, do it for your kids. What a wonderful setting and atmosphere for a game.

Winning run score by Dean Anna who hit an inside the park home run....Hit line drive to left center...fielders collided...Umpires didn't call anything and Anna circled the bases with the winning run. Sat in the Central section and a couple of their fans thought "catch" ...others said they couldn't tell. I thought he caught the ball and colleded and hurt himself. Didn't raise glove and therein lies the "problem".

Memo to infielders/outfielders...Get the ball in and worry about what is going on with the collision later.

Happened to us a couple of times last year: Once, when the first baseman got hit in the face with a ball and was down at first while the guy circled the bases for a score...Ump said in his opinion the situation wasn't "dangerous"; and, the other side of the coin when the catcher from another team dove and caught the bunt popup in foul territory with a man on third...knocked the wind out of the young man and the ump called "dead ball" immediately even though the kid from third "tagged" up and scored.

...Getting long-winded here.

Great game between two competitive teams!

**The problem is with a lazy BU who should have raced out to see if a catch had been made.

Memo to infielders/outfielders...Get the ball in and worry about what is going on with the collision later.

** Memo to umpires..Go out and verify "catch/no catch".

**Bad mechanics. Not a dangerous situation, keep ball alive. And the run can't score if the ump calls "time".
