Deciding between PG Showcases

My son would like to attend a PG underclass showcase this year, and has received invites to the California Underclass Showcase in Walnut, CA, in November as well as the National Underclass Showcase in Glendale, AZ, in December. Is there any advantage to attending the National Showcase over the one in CA, or are they basically the same thing (the format looks to be the same)? Thanks for any advice more experienced folks can provide. He is a 2016 RHP.
