I was wondering if it made sense to attended a DP showcase if I live in NC, or does it really matter

Personally, i would recommend them highly. Most contacts from schools for son have come either directly or indirectly from DP events. These schools geographically range from Virginia to Georgia.
DP events are very well attended by coaches, scouts, and travel programs covering NC (and of course SC), You could ask the coaches of schools you are interested in if they will be attending. The events are extremely well run. Times and speeds posted are considered very credible.
Have received tremendous amount of information and assistance from staff.
