My son attended the Diamond Skills winter camp in 07' and 08'. In 08', he attended both the positional and pitching sessions (6.5 hours) even though he had swim and dive meets that went late on Fridays, and sometimes Saturdays, as well. No matter how exhausted he was, he was up at 6 am sharp on Saturday mornings because he couldn't wait to get to Diamond Skills. That should tell you everything you need to know. Quite simply, we cannot say enough great things about the Diamond Skills winter camp or the people running it. The organizers, Chris Rodriguez, and Mark and Kevin Gibbs (and the Gibbs' dad), are among the finest people we have had the pleasure of meeting during my son's baseball journey. The camp is first-class in every sense, including the training and feedback from outstanding coaches, and the exposure to outstanding college programs at all levels, as well as pro scouts. Both the coaches and scouts are more than happy to talk with your son and you about the next level. In terms of the competition level, many of DC's top prospects attend, including top players from PV VI, St. John's, and DeMatha. I have personally seen top college coaches and pro scouts attend to watch and talk to these players. I have also seen DII and DIII coaches attend to follow and meet with certain players, including my son. If you live in the DC area and are serious about improving as a baseball player, this camp is a must attend!
