How many people have used Dick Mills All About Pitching? Can you give me some feedback on the program.

Skraps, discussion of pitching instruction will inevitably bring out a host of "guru wannabees" who will want to tout the teachings of their respective "guru".

Bottom line, there are several different philosophies on pitching, just like hitting. What works for one person, may not work for the next. I've always tried to remain open minded, use a little from this guy, maybe a little from that guy, and blend it all together.

But please, whatever you do, don't ever in the same topic mention Dick Mi**s, Setpr*, and Tom Hous*...it's worse than saying "Beetlejuice" nono dwarf pull_hair duel...the wrath of the gurus will be unleashed upon us..
Somebody call for a GURU???

Ah. Well... I attended Juilliard... I'm a graduate of the Harvard business school. I travel quite extensively. I lived through the Black Plague and had a pretty good time during that. I've seen the EXORCIST ABOUT A HUNDRED AND SIXTY-SEVEN TIMES, AND IT KEEPS GETTING FUNNIER EVERY SINGLE TIME I SEE IT... NOT TO MENTION THE FACT THAT YOU'RE TALKING TO A DEAD GUY... NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK? You think I'm qualified?

Let's turn on the juice and see what shakes loose.

Nice mug shot! I didn't know that Farah Fawcett's stylist was still in the biz.

Dick Mills? Dick Mills...sounds familiar. Wasn't he the first guy to successfully swim up Niagara Falls? No, no, now I remember...that was Tim Salmon...Dick Mills invented the Wankel rotary engine used by Mazda...that engine has a unique pitch to it...that I'm absolutely sure of...don't argue with me!

Asked why, when everyone was going down and he was going up instead, he murmured something about specificity of swimming in money.

I know what swimming in debt feels like...I wonder what swimming in money feels like?

Does it leave a stain or sting your eyes if they've added too much chlorine?

Do the dollar signs get in your eyes...can you still see?

I agree that there is something to be gained from every instructor, but like the old adage goes, 50% of what every pitching instructor says is wrong, the hard part is finding out which 50%

one thing I do know for sure is when you are swimming in money, it isn't about arm strength, it is all about explosive elastic energy.

I couldn't resist
Hmm. Maybe skipped to the Canuck side of the falls.

JMHO. You cannot replace one-on-one qualified instruction with a video. Pitching is built from the ground up: 1) General athleticism: Cardio (heart and lungs for endurance), 2) Core strength and weight-training: (especially legs, for power), 3)Mechanical training and knowledge: (learn how to pitch by studying and taking lessons from a qualified instructor!), 4) Arm-strength (year-round long-toss).

The last one, year-round long-toss, is what separates the men from the boys. Kids today do not throw enough. On my son's team, he is the ONLY one who throws year-round and he is by far the fastest pitcher on the team. (P.S., he's also the shortest, imagine that.)

It's not that bad in Canada yet...is it? Where down is up and up is down?

I have to go along with you on this one...makes sense doesn't it...and doesn't cost any money!
