Difference in length between wood and metal bats?

I would think weight and balance of the bat would be more important than changing lengths. A rep from a bat manufacturer told me the the wood C243 is very close to the EXO my son uses. The C243 has worked for him. The C243 he uses is a -2. Metal bats are closer to -2 than -3 once the gripping is placed on them. The weight of a metal bat is before the gripping.

Isn't it more about the sweetspot versus the weight?

The sweet spot on a wood bat will always be smaller. To me it's about what wood bat will have the same balance for swinging as the metal bat.

TG, my son has an exo too. We'll have to check into a C243. I'm not sure what model his wood bat is. He thinks his exo is too balanced. He likes swinging wood better.
