WOW! What an experience being here in Alabama!
According to the press and local papers Southern Conn. is the Rodney Dangerfield of the tournament.(NO RESPECT!) I have to admit though SCSU is going to have a rough time of it down here. I saw 2 games yesterday and the teams were just awesome! Central Missouri State (5) played Florida Southern (2) and Delta State (3) played Cal State Chico (0). This kid Callahan from CMS was 3 for 3 w/ 3 HR's and all 5 RBI's ... what a powerful kid. CMS also had a closer that was hitting 94 on the pitch speed display in center field. WOW! Southern Conn. is playing North Florida tonight at 7:30 Eastern time. http://www.valdosta.edu/athletics/montgomery/
UNF is going DI next year so this will be their last DII tournament and they want to go out on a winning note. I hope a little team from the Northeast can at least give them a game. I hope all you Northeast fans do a little cheering for the home area tonight.

Only certain leagues are wood-- the World Series is aluminum

To answer your question 20Dad The Northeast-10 is the only wood bat conference in DII.

Now the report on the series:
Game was to start at 7:30... did'nt start till 10:15 because of a giant thunderstorm. The field crew did a great job with getting the playing surface ready. Riverwalk Stadium is the home of the Montgomery Bisciuts (Devilrays AA team) and they have a pro field crew too! Now on to the game... ERRORS....ya just can't make em and expect to win. Not that we would have won the game.. but those mishaps just takes a team down mentally. Northern Fla. is a good solid team with great pitching and an agressive style of play. Open the door and they all will slam it on ya. (They all?) wow.. I guess the south is rubbin off a little. LOL. Anyway, we lost 6-1 which I don't think is so bad considering the E's (3 runs were earned) So losing to #4 ranked UNF was'st a blowout and we just have to pick it up now. We next play Grand Valley State on Tues. (losers bracket) at 3:30 EDT. If we win we get to play the loser of #1 ranked Central Missouri State and #2 ranked Delta State....
