Ladies,

My son was just given a prescription that was music to a mother's ears: his orthopedic specialist wants him to wash dishes! Seriously.

Son injured a ligament in his glove hand 4 weeks ago and has been in a cast 24/7 since. That cast was removed this morning and replaced with a custom-made removable cast. Doctor said he wants son to remove the cast when he goes to bed, when he showers, when he meets with the hand therapist, and when he does dishes. Son and I both thought he was kidding, but he said the warm water and scrubbing action will help the ligament. I cannot tell you how happy I was to hear that. Doctor told son that if he wants to heal quickly it would be in his best interest to comply.

My son is a HS junior and we all know how important that year is for baseball players. I want my son to have a complete recovery, so I am going to spend some time looking up recipes that require the use of lots of pots, pans, and dishes. As a loving mother, I'll do all I can to help. Big Grin

Kmom,
Hope that therapy helps and son gets better soon!

Interesting. Before son pitches a game, he usually washes his car. He claims that it's good therapy for mind and body, stretching loosens him up.

Too bad he doesn't live at home, we could work on vacuuming and cleaning the bathtub. Big Grin
