BE AWARE! The District Title in 3-2A should be stripped from Shallowater as 6 of 9 starting positions were "RECRUITED". The son of Head Coach Mike Eckles played Little League baseball with the other 5 starters from Lubbock, TX for several years. These starters all reside in the Coronado, Monterey and Frenship Districts and played for the same Little League coach at Lubbock's Midwest Little League. All submitted for transfer as freshmen yet remain in Lubbock to this day, with guarantee of being starting varsity beginning their sophomore year, as the returning district champion team was due to graduate with only 2 Juniors returning to limited playing time. Three other returners quit as they were informed of bench roles only. The West Texas summer team coaching position was given to the Little League coach and father of one of these players along with his 2 assistants while still coaching the younger brothers until they are of age to transfer in the next year or two. They basically have their own minor league feeder team. If everyone likes losing to them as they have the last several years then ignor it. Otherwise, Abernathy should be awarded the District 3-2A Title and all awards stripped from this illegal team. See the UIL Constitution as it pertains to recruiting.
