I know most of us Coppell fans are just glad to be in a District were you better bring your A game every Tuesday and Friday. There wasn't much competition last year in District and the team didn't seem as prepared as it could have been for the playoffs.

Becker's lists the 6 teams , Flower Mound, Coppell, Newman-Smith, Lewisville, Hebron, and then Marcus.

Two good teams will miss the playoffs. I'm not sure Becker's was aware of the Marcus move-in or maybe they would be higher.

Top Players:
FM - Tant Shepard , Jimmie Pharr and Popescu plus Neal and Doran on the mound.
Coppell - Cole Green, Jonathan Kaskow, Cameron Watten, Chris Castillo and some other seniors. The sophomores will play a key part in their success. Johnny Walsh and Chad Kettler ( started ) both played Varsity last year. Austin Elkins should see a lot of time and bat 1 or 2, this kid finds ways to not only get on base but come around and score.

Someone else please fill us in on the rest of the pack, I would like to hear more about Hebron, or any of the others.

My son is still in basketball but I will be at the baseball scrimmage for a while tonight before the basketball game.

If Coppell finishes anything less than first the boys will feel like they have something to prove so it might be a good thing if they just get in....in 4th place. Maybe not.
MEATSDAD....I think Shuttle was trying to get my reaction (4th yeah right) We will show them on the field. I have been directed to "watch what I say" this year on the web about us. I think the band thing at FM got to all of us last year. Wait til they come here on March 30th!!! The entire town and cheerleading squad will be here! Big Grin

I think we are ready to play!
Train,

I want to take a low key approach this year and try to learn more about the other teams but it doesn't seem like I can get any takers.

Speaking of scrimmages, I saw the first couple of pitchers for Coppell, Green - Watten - De La, who followed them? I thought I saw Kaskow warming up in the pen as I left, did he pitch?

The basketball team beat Marcus so it looks like Coppel will make the playoff, that's good but it keeps Meat away from baseball for a few more weeks, that doesn't help his chances to win a spot in the rotation, but the playoff experience should help his maturity level for when he gets a chance to pitch.
Okay, I am new to this, and I am a F.M. Mom. We have some good friends at Coppell and I understand that Cole Green pitched two great innings as did Cameron Watten. Cameron also homered, as did Chris Castille.

What finally got me was finding out last night with some IT girlfriends that Train is in fact a fellow F.M. Dad.

I can't tell you how silly we feel after reading all the things he wrote.

We are sorry for his childish behavior as we know that the Coppell bunch are actually a pretty good bunch of kids and parents.

Our apologies!
I didn't keep an exact score because they played 11 or 12 innings. Overall it ended up about a tie. Coppell's first 3 pitchers had the advantage and after 7 innings it was 4 to 2. Mike Pair for TCA looked real goodon the bump and at the plate, TCA didn't play Schultz nor do I think Parker?. For Coppell, De La was first on the bump and went three strong innings. Kaskow throw 2 strong inngs and the breaking ball continues to get better and better.

Of note: Kris Gradtner a freshman for Coppell pitched a strong inning...something to look forward to, Kris is a lefty and his dad was a MLB pitcher.

On the home front, Meat pitched like a basketball player but not to bad for being on a real mound for the first time since November.
