Good news for Karns, Halls, Powell, Oak Ridge, etc. Wink

A solid source has told me that TSSAA realignment next year will result in Farragut moving to District 3!

District 4 will add Lenoir City.

This will give both 3A Knox area districts 8 teams!

I am sure that HV and Biz will be especially glad to hear this. The change will happen the season after their baseball playing sons graduate! Smile

Leave HV out of this. biglaugh His son wasn't playing in the same district. He should be happy that his son graduated BEFORE the Admirals moved.

While I think it will increase "parity" between the two Knoxville districts, I hate to see them go. Farragut has traditional rivalries with the West Knox schools. I'm sure they'll continue to play, but it won't mean the same.

All the district 4 schools seem to have stepped up their commitment level to baseball. I think we have Farragut to thank. Hopefully that commitment will continue when Farragut moves.

Lenoir City will join a very competitive district. While I won't have as much direct interest going forward, it will still be interesting to see how things shake out in the future.
Bob,
Did your source address Gibbs HS? I understand they are close to having to move to AAA as that area has a big jump in population.

Maybe when Farragut HS hits the 3,000 student population the TSSAA will make them split in half. Razz

Farragut moving will make it much easier for me to watch them play baseball, now I won't just go to their place. Wink Now If I could only make the young son consider playing baseball again.

Maybe the wife will have another baby.... Naw, no chance of that. Big Grin
HV & AdDad,
This is a true story. 25 years ago my wife asked me how many kids I wanted. I told her I didn't care as long as we had enough boys to field a baseball team. Now she says that she wishes she'd listened to me. At the time however, I think she was seriously considering a wedding cancellation. Of course I realize now that it would only take $5,897,243 to keep 9 boys playing baseball. Eek
HV, If the school's home page is correct, this is where some schools stand today:

Carter - 958
Lenoir City - 1045
Fulton - 1032
Gibbs - 918

With these numbers and their growth....District 3AA will undergo some major change. I am not sure, but is the TSSAA rule, the school has 3 years to fall back under the size limits before they are moved up?

And by the way...where are all my post's...just 50??? I thought I talked more than that. Confused
