I have a question regarding fall practice dates for division 1 schools. When is the last date that they can practice in the fall/winter either as a team or individually?

My reason for asking is that the university that my son will be going to gets out of school on Dec. 11. We would like to line up his plane tickets now so hopefully we would get them at a good advance purchase rate. However, these will probably be non refundable at the good rate. Is there a possibility that he would have to stay for baseball team purposes beyond the Dec. 11 date?

Thanks in advance for any help that you can give me on this!!

I was going to have him do that but the coach is in the middle of the conference tournament right now and they will probably make it to the NCAA tournament it looks like. I didn't want to bother him at this time but did want to get the advance purchase on the tickets. Thought that someone on this forum who is in the know could help out.
I would third TR - the moose is in "rut" (moose madness)Wink

your school's "academic calendar" on their website should mark the last day of exams .. after which travel should be "jake"

moose responds: For three years mine has....they have 3 days off
maybe I missed something ... Confused

a) DI schools have a 30 day window for fall practice ... is the moose saying Cal schools dis-regard the rule - or - that they begin their 30 day practice around Thanksgiving??

b) all the schools I am aware of close the campus, dorms, & services at holiday break for everyone except "in season athletes" (dorms but no services/food)
