I am not. The one thing is that Bill Decker teams have always done well at national tournamnet. Either with Harbour Federal, Team Toyota or Fowble

And I heard tonight that the Frederick Hustlers finished 2nd at the NABF High School W.S. out of 37 participating teams. Wow!

The Hustlers only went with like 12 or 13 players I believe and one of their players clubbed like 5 dongs and was hurt and couldnt play in the championship game, so who knows maybe they could of won that game.

The Hustlers actually took 11 players. They had by far the smallest team entry in the tournament. Their two leading hitters each clubbed three home runs during the tournament and they did lose one of those two hitters to a fracture on a ball that hit the batter on the wrist.
The finished second in their poll after losing a game to the Canadian National Team in pool play. That meant that they had to play 5 consecutive games against teams that won their bracket. They won all but the last and despite the small number of players they performed extremely well.
Wayne Main and his coaching staff are incredible at managing the team and continue to do great things year after year. This team consistently produces, evidenced by three consecutive years of finishing first or second in a national tournament. BMB must love these guys.
I believe this is the best showing by a 17&U team from Maryland in the NABF High School World Series.
Short one pitcher at the end, they indeed could have won it all.

How did my cousin's boy, Aaron Main, do in the tournament?

Aaron played very well. Not sure he would be happy with hitting, but by far one of the best highlights of the tournament was the game he threw against the Columbus Bulldogs in the round of sixteen. He threw a complete game 9-5 win. The Columbus team had pounded every team they played prior to that. The five runs were not close to indicative of how well he pitched. A few miscues in the field cost him at least three of the runs.

The Columbus team had already written their own ticket into the next round, at least that is what the parents were saying and he flat shut them down.

He also came into the last inning of the semi-final win against a team from Seneca Valley, PA and shut the door in a 3-2 win. Not bad for a kid who had thrown probably 120 pitches the day before.

My guess is that if the coach had asked he probably would have tried to throw the final. Absolutely a great kid. Stubborn, and really hard on himself, but a great kid, great ball player, with a great overall attitude.

Thanks for the update. Haven't gotten a chance to talk to Aaron or his dad Tom (my cousin) yet. Aaron comes from great farming stock. His dad and three uncles all grew up on a dairy farm. All four boys were strong and very good athletes as kids.

Aaron is heading to Frostburg in the fall. I hear that the baseball coach won't let him play football, or has atleast strongly discouraged it. Dang shame...he is a very good football player as well.
