Does anyone know how a player gets nominated for Dallas Morning News High School Baseball Player of the week?

I recently whitnessed a player who deserves this honor on Friday and Saturday night. Trevor Slocum, Arlington Martin 1B, went 2-4 with 1 Grand Slam and a single on Friday night against Mansfield Summit.

The very next night Trevor Slocum went 3-5 with 1 2-run homerun, 1 Grand Slam, and single on Saturday night against Lamar.

3 homeruns, 2 grand slams in two games seems pretty worth to me. I mean, even the odds of having two opportunities like that were hard enough.

I agree with you that Slocum should get the player of the week.

What I can't figure out is why he is on the A's 2nd tier Summer team. The kid has had a great season and the exposure he receives on that 2nd team will be minimal.

Since its Arlington Martin, I'm surprised it wasn't on Page 1 of the sports section.
