Does a fielder have to get to a lodged ball before it is dead?

Interesting one here. Runners on 1st and 2nd and the CF breaks to backup second (as if there was supposed to be a pickoff play on) but the Pitcher delivers the ball to the plate. Batter lines one to RF who dives and misses the ball and dislocates his shoulder and doesn't get up. All runners score before CF gets to the ball. When he gets there he raises his hand because the ball has lodged under the fence covering. Ground rule double and runners at 2nd and 3rd or homerun?

GRD. Doesn't matter when the D gets to it.

Nor how far the runners got before it became lodged.

Just because he raised his hands mean nothing, Until the Ump see's that it is stuck.
If player reaches in and grabs it before it is confirmed by the ump to be stuck, it would be considered a homerun.
