Son is starting to hear back from early action admissions.
Wondering if he should let the coach of school where he would like to play know that he has been admitted? Does this matter to the coach?
If he should let the coach know should it be only coaches he has had contact with or would this be a plus regardless if he has had contact? Would it possibly stimulate contact, in other words, make him more attractive to the coach?
Thanks for the input.

We let the coach know but turns out that he already knew. Also found out that the coach has been following his academic scholarship through the process. For me, this means that there is sincere interest.

Also, I think it is important to keep in contact with the coaches to make sure that they know he is still interested (something I keep telling my son). Letting them know that he was accepted is another opportunity to have a conversation with the coach.

As far as the coaches that he has not contacted, does he want to play baseball at those schools? If so, then he should go ahead and contact them. If he applied to the school without doing an on campus visit, then you should contact the coach for a visit if this is possible for you.

Good luck!
I would say that the importance of acceptance depends on how difficult it is for anyone to get into the school and also how much concern there was that your son might not be admitted. Coaches only have so many "chips" to use to gain admission for players who are borderline and your son may be more valuable if he does not require that chip.

I agree with VaRHPmom that it is another good excuse to continue conversation with coaches at schools of interest.
