In California we have "scout" baseball which usually means that a MLB scout runs a team and uses the name of the MLB team that they scout for.
Some of the teams out here have 50-60 guys on the rosters and charge anywhere from $200-$500 dollars! That means that these scouts are making anywhere from $10,000-$30,000. Is this the norm? And if so am I the only one that thinks this might be a problem that these scouts use the chance to play pro ball as a money maker?
They use the "we are just trying to get the kids exposure for colleges and scouts" line, but what happened to the day when you tried to hide kids? Also, wouldn't most pro teams not want kids to be seen by colleges that would make their signability harder?
Just wanted to know about the rest of the country?
