The Midlothian-Clover Hill matchup promised a pitchers' duel between two UVA-bound seniors, Midlo's Tyler Wilson and Clover Hill's Sean Tierney. But Tierney was scratched with a stiff back, and the duel did not materialize. Wilson had to pitch through 6 errors but went the route, allowing only 2 hits in a 4-2 win. Wilson also homered and had 3 RBI.

James River held serve with a 5-1 win on a blustery evening at L.C. Bird. Bird got a lift when Jacob Karr returned from an injury, got into the lineup for the first time this year, and on his first swing of the season drove a Daniel Marrs fastball deep into the night. It was Marrs' first earned run allowed in 29 innings this year and the first HR allowed by any JR pitcher in 12 games this year, but it wasn't enough. Bird in fact got only 3 hits in the game, JR played sparkling defense and got a HR of its own from Chris Briere to win.

Manchester beat Monacan decisively, 13-5. Cosby got the easy win at Huguenot, 22-2, though Huguenot's Jaquan Davis won a moral victory for the Falcons with a 2-run HR off Cosby ace Ronnie Shaban in the first inning. Wythe was idle.

After the first run through the district and thus, at the district season's half way point, only one game has suffered a postponement. The Clover Hill v. Wythe game will be made up April 25. Assuming Clover Hill wins that one, the standings will be tiered with no teams being tied. As of now, the standings are:

1. James River 8-0
2. Midlothian 7-1
3. Cosby, 6-2
4. Manchester, 5-3
5. Clover Hill, 3-4
6. Monacan, 3-5
7. L.C. Bird, 2-6
8. Huguenot, 1-7
9. Wythe, 0-7

Basically other than James River, every team has lost to those ranked above it and beaten those below it.
