Two Tuesday games:

Cosby slaughter-ruled Clover Hill, 11-1, as Ronnie Shaban returned to form, yielding no earned runs in the shortened complete game. Ryan Parker and Joe Vacca homered for Cosby.

Jake Tuzzo pitched a complete game and Ryan Oliver had a grand slam and 7 total RBI as the junior duo led Monacan to an easy win over visiting L.C. Bird, 9-2.

One Wednesday game:

James River hit 4 HR's en route to a rule-shortened, 12-2 win at L.C. Bird. Austin Stadler pitched all 5 innings, allowing only 3 hits and 2 unearned runs while striking out 7. Stadler also had the first of the homers in the third, with Robert Oldham going back-to-back on the next pitch, and Sean Monahan making it a hat trick two batters later. Eamon Schwartz made it 4 long balls with a shot to center in the 4th.
One Thursday game:

After dropping two non-district games, Manchester righted its ship with a 13-0 route of Monacan. Chris Hardee shut out the Chiefs, while the Lancers hit 3 HR's.

Current standings:

James River, Cosby, and Manchester all 1-0.

Monacan is 1-1.

Midlothian has yet to play a district game.

Clover Hill is 0-1 while Bird is 0-2.
