Usually, (honesty is the best policy) would apply to all walks of life. However with baseball being a business, businessmen wouldn't normally reveal their true intentions, strategy, or an angle that they plan to take in the near future.(the draft)

If a 2014 that is a possible 1-4 round draft pick, and would prefer to go pro, be wise to get an Advisor to train him on the correct answers that the Scouts want to hear in the upcoming visits. Because if there are some turn-ons and some turn-offs that the Scouts are looking for, it would seem that the player should be armed with a few of the right answers..

A family friend was drafted in the 4th round last year, and he had a an advisor.  I didn't think it would hurt.

If he is a 1-4 round projections he will have plenty of good agents contacting him and he should seek advice for what be best for THAT player.

Our friend's boy had many visits, workouts, etc., that included drug tests, Psychological tests, etc.  I am not sure of all of the questions though.
