I was out on the Duke Baseball website earlier today checking in on how one of my son's friends and former teammates is doing, and the name at the top of the Hitting statistics jumped out at me.

Jeff Kremer, leading the Blue Devils with a .357 Average. I suspect we have a proud papa in the HSBBW community.

May all the sons of all of our friends, who we know primarily by screen names, enjoy all the success in the world during the 2011 campaign.

There once was a hunchback who lived in a clock tower. His job was to ring the huge bell at the top of every hour. However, he was never given a big mallet with which to ring the bell.

Luckily, there was a long hallway leading to the bellroom. The hunchback would run as fast as he could down the hallway, dive at the bell and land headfirst right into the bell.

One day, it had been raining and the hunchback slipped on a puddle just as he dove for the bell. He dove, missed the bell completely, flew out the window and fell many stories to his death.

A crowd gathered around the lifeless body of the poor hunchback. Everyone knew of this man, but few knew much about him. This caused one bystander to call out "Does anyone know his name?"

The reply: "No, but his face sure rings a bell."

Thanks, everyone. Jeff is indeed having a good season, and I am proud of him. I know you all understand how hard these young men have to work to compete in college baseball, and I am proud of him for having prepared himself to do well.

He would sure like to have a few more W's in his team's record at this point, however. Especially in conference games. He wants nothing more than for his team to qualify for post-season.

And Gotwood! No fair posting my picture up here!

You? Are you sure? All I said was "Probably looks something like this handsome gent." I didn't mention your name! I think you're reading too much into this!

Seriously...now that we know how handsome you are, may I show our eager audience just how much more handsome your son is?

Just give me the nod and Jeff's knock-the-ladies-dead good looks will be known throughout the wide, wide, world of the High School Baseball Web.

And if I don't get the nod? Well let's just say that this guy...

...wouldn't even have a chance at being Jeff's stunt double!

You get the picture folks!

Wink
