Many of you (or your senior sons) may be seemingly left out in the cold right now. No calls, few letters. Don't give up the dream. Many D-III schools won't crank up efforts until after the early signing periods. If your son is on a fall showcase team, make sure he gets to the games and keeps putting forth a good effort. Contact schools you are interested in and see if they have any fall camps, or better yet, see if they are attending any fall camps. Get the schools your fall schedules, so they will know where to find you (and other talented players).

It CAN happen this "late" and DOES happen this late. My own son got his look when at a weekend camp for a different school--the school that he now attends happened to be there.

Good luck--don't dispair--and certainly don't give up.

I know the DVD issue has been visited on this website. Some are for the player DVD and some think it is a waste of time. Do you think that, at this point, sending a DVD to D3 schools and others is useless? Son has decided that he's going to widen his net and got a good DVD of himself which he is now busily sending out to some schools.
Newcomer,
I think the key is to not send the DVD unsolicited. IMO, it is best to have your son make contact with the coach first. Let the coach know of your interest in his program, that you have the DVD and will send them a copy on request. That way they have a profile on you before the DVD shows up. Good Luck with recruiting! Smile
