i attended there and played baseball last fall for them then left. I would not recommend it. Bad Coaching, bad weather in a town with nothing to do, negative 30 degree weather and it smells like **** 5 days of the week because it is up the street from a slaughter house and a farm. They recruited me and 11 other freshman so we had 12 freshman in fall and in season they had 4 freshman left and a third of my grade left the school. Also the classes are very hard. We played on the local high school field too.
We just dropped our son off at Dordt last weekend where he is joining the baseball program. Last year's head coach was an interim (now an assistant) while the head coach was away for the year. We met with both coaches and liked them as people. I can't really judge how good they are at this point at baseball, but I did look up this spring's scores against Concordia and noticed that they had split their two games, so I am not sure what that means about the evaluation from the student from Concordia. Also, they missed their league's playoffs by one game. They have had only one fall practice, so far, so I can't say much else at this point. On checking the freshman numbers from 2006-2007 recruiting, I see that there are 10 recruits listed and five of them are on the spring roster in 2008. My son's class had 13 recruits, so it will be interesting to see how many are there in the spring.
