Congrats to Mike Hollenbeck (Joliet Township) who was just drafted in the 14th round and 443 overall by the Boston Redsox.

Joining big brother Luke, Brock Stewart, Normal West, drafted by the Mets in 40th round

Patrick Schatz - McHenry High School - University of Iowa - Crystal Lake Cyclones in the 2002 MCYSA International Championships - Was drafted by the Chicago White Sox today. Do not know what round.

Two Harrisburg guys were drafted, Reid Roper and Kollin Dowdy both to the Braves.

Cary-Grove IF Chris Waylock drafted in the 43rd round by the Indians and Crystal Lake Central P Connor Sadzeck selected in the 45th round by the Pirates.

Jake DePew (Granite City) in the 9th round.

Lucas O'Rear was drafted in the 13th round by the Reds. O'Rear played high school ball at Nashville High School and is currently a member of the Northern Iowa Panthers basketball team. I believe he played one year of baseball at UNI before they dropped the baseball program after 2009. Reports have indicated that O'Rear will sign with the Reds and begin playing baseball this summer. Also being reported that O'Rear will return to UNI in the fall and will play his senior year of basketball for the Panthers.

Josh Mueller from Columbia, IL and playing at Eastern Illinois currently was drafted by the Rockies in the 13th round. He, too, is expected to sign. The right hander from Columbia quickly climbed into the starting rotation for the Panthers in his freshman campaign.
