I know that when a player enrolls and plays at a 4 year institution, he is not eligible for the MLB draft until after his junior season, as opposed to a JUCO player who is eligible for the draft every year. What is the rule if a player plays one year at a 4 year institution and that school drops the baseball program after his 1st year? Can he somehow declare himself eligible or must he be released or enroll at a JUCO to be eligible?

If the player was not eligbile for the MLB Draft during that player's first year at an NAIA or NCAA institution, they aren't eligible for the MLB Draft, only JR college players would be eligible after their first year, or any player who turns 21 yrs of age before 45 days after the MLB Draft.
