Does anyone know any drills to help players to follow through properly at the end of their swing? My 11 yo son often makes solid contact with the ball but his bat is pointing toward the shortstop and the end of the swing. He hits the ball hard enough to usually line the ball into the outfield but certainly could have greater power.

He has taken hours making full swings in practice but shortens his swing considerably in the game so I believe it is more mental then physical. He knows what he is suppose to do but it just is not happening in games. Any suggestions on mental thoughts he could have or drills to develop muscle memory to follow through properly?
