more to come!!!!

Great opportunity for exposure.  My son will be there. (Not that that matters to most).

Will be his first one but I've heard good things about them.  Spoiler alert...my son is a Canes player but I hope to see some braves, orioles scout team, and others attend.  Good way for boys to network as well....future teammates in college most likely.

Thanks for posting redbird!

I would think they had seen everything they wanted to see during the other portions of the workout.

Athletes with footspeed and throwing velocity are the only true quantifiable skills?

I've seen great hitters look like crap in a 7 swing BP... and awful hitters look like a million dollars...

If there weren't any position players running 6.8 or better... and throwing at least mid 80s from their position... there wasn't any point in watching them hit.

There is only going to be one or two power hitting first basemen within 50 miles..and everyone already knows who they are?

I don't who are they?

"everyone" as in people whose job it is to know...

I was on the way back from filming in NoVa & knew there was going to be some action at Riverbend and decided to pop in.

I didn't take roll, but I'd say I saw north of 15 colleges in attendance.  And I missed the pitching portion which I'm sure had several more.

Parents need to understand what the differences between a "camp" and a "combine".  Not saying anyone on here confused the 2, just pointing that out.

VTFan32 - regarding the views of hitters or any other skill that the coaches had from above the 3B dugout… keep this in mind… Their job is on the line.  Their evaluation of the kids that they see and recruit, sign, or don't recruit and don't sign will directly impact their employment status through Wins & Losses.  I'll go out on a limb and say that these guys could evaluate a swing just fine from where they were.  Or else they would have moved.

Overall, very well run event.  Organized.  On time, which is difficult with the number of kids that attended.

I agree, my point was they (UVA,ECU and others) moved to the car and didn't come back.  Maybe I didn't see them return...

The coaches were provided a full roster of kids ahead of time.  They knew who was attending.  Their job is to know the players and identify new ones.

With that being said, if a kid doesn't show the ability and athleticism to run a halfway decent 60 time, that usually would be strike one.  If he didn't field his position and throw well with some athleticism, that is usually strike two.  So, if I am a coach, why would I stay to watch his BP?  If it's a younger kid (2016 or younger), I have plenty of time to identify him AND he has time to develop.

The 2 programs you mentioned, UVA and ECU, do a pretty good job of ID'ing talent and are pretty specific in what they look for.  If they didn't see it during the running and fielding portions, then they likely won't find it in the BP portion.  And...there is a chance they aren't looking for any RH bats, unless they are plus plus.  There were 20+ other schools there who may find your son attractive, I'd focus on those.

Dynamic Baseball cannot make a coach stay.  We can only provide them a venue to see the talent.

Redbird - I was making an observation of what occurred.  I'm sure all coaches know what they need and the criteria for their programs.  A 2016/2017 kid does have plenty of time to be noticed that may be on the cusp of the 60 time/fielding/arm strength.

My goal is to continue the advancement of these players to be on the "list" for these teams notice.  Some may get discouraged because schools they have in mind didn't hang around but I continue to explain they are early in the process.  Some may never be at the elite level but some may.  Keep working is my motto!
