Thanks everyone but so far where I'm at it's been a lot of nothing. Hopefully that is the way it is for everyone in the rest of it's path.

Hatteras and the outer banks will get hammered, but looks like the eastern seaboard of New England will take the brunt.

I hate hurricanes. This one took it's sweet time to jog back east. 18 hours earlier and rut roh shaggy.

Everybody on NC shore hunker down and keep your powder dry...could be a long night. Stay safe...don't need any dead heroes just live survivors come morning.

Agree with 55mom 100%. Lived through too many of them growing up in Fla.

My folks have a place on Topsail Island, NC. Appears a miss for them, with 30mph winds and minimal rainfall as of a few hours ago.

Thoughts and prayers with everyone else. It appears the winds have gone from 140-125. Hopefully the trend continues.

Sitting here waiting for it...35 mph so far

Small world - I live 5 minutes from Topsail Island on the mainland. Earl really didn't amount to much of anything thankfully and if it keeps at this pace I hope / pray that it loses steam as it goes north.

Yesterday they were calling for us to get 70 - 80 MPH wind and heavy rain and we got nowhere near that. I was a little worried but as the storm approached and went through it really didn't amount to anything.

Great news...

Hopefully it continues NE and misses everyone else. Looks like it's down to 105 MPH so hopefully it's breathing it's last before it heads into open ocean and dies out.

Now we pray for Cape Cod area, gotta "pay it forward"

Supposed to go to Topsail this weekend.... Love that beach. ;-)

I know along the coast of CT they are doing early dismissal for the schools. So far nothing this way, but they are talking 2pm - 2am today...hopefully nothing...Good Luck to those on the Cape, they may be getting the brunt.

Heard from someone in eastern VA that they got next to nothing. Looks like its going to be a miss for all but eastern Mass. until it gets to Nova Scotia. Hopefully by then it'll have diminished significantly.

My folks were headed down to Topsail today for the rest of the weekend.

Hopefully everyone else will be able to enjoy the majority of the weekend as well.

Happy Labor Day from the coast of eastern Connecticut - nothing but a little rain so far. Looking forward to cooler weather to follow the rain, just in time for fall ball to start next weekend.
