I have been wanting to ask this question for a while. Just havent found the right place. I think i have found a place where i can get some answers.

Okay i'm a juinior. As a sophomore i played varsity and i'm starting this year. Interested in playing college ball. But when should i start contacting coaches of schools i am interested in? Should i start now or wait longer? Are they going to be too busy with their team now? These are a few of my questions. Thanks.

22, this is a great time to start. Identify the schools you are interested in and give them a call or send them an email.

You can send them your HS schedule and invite them to come see you and your team.

Also, identify your summer team and forward schedule as well.

Lastly, attend their camps so they can see you in person and get to know you.

Good luck.
22,

When you send an email, introduce yourself. Tell the coaches where you're from and what high school you attend. Express your interest in the SCHOOL, and your interest in playing baseball for said school. Then, you can attach a document stating your biographical, academic, and athletic information. You can find that information under the "Recruiting Tips" tab of the main website. Then click the "Information letter" under Sample Letters.

Best of Luck!
Yeah, mstcks is right. Start now by using this website to guide you. It is very important to get started by any means. Too much is not enough, any contact is good contact. Remember to fill out questionaires on the school's website, that puts you in their database which they can email all information as to upcoming camps/clinics and other important info. Make a list, preferably on the computer, of all your schools, head coach, phone numbers, emails and write down your contact with them and what you have heard from them.
One more thing that is helpful if you haven't done it yet is get your own email that is easy and not a foolish name, like you name @yahoo.com or something like that. I have been told by recruiters and coaches this helps. Direct contact between you and them can be made easier. Good luck.
